Grab your amigos and head over to historic Old Town to spice up your weekend at the FREE Fiesta Old Town on Saturday, September 12th and Sunday September 13th! Old Town is sure to be MUY CALIENTE as it transforms the historic Old Town San Diego, CA area into the largest Dia de la Independencia (Mexican Independence Day) celebration on the West Coast. Taking place Saturday, September 12th from 10 AM to 10 PM through Sunday, September 13th from 10 AM to 6 PM this FREE weekend celebration will boast a bustling mercado, non-stop music and live entertainment from over 40 Latin bands, Mariachis and Ballet Folklorico groups, lucha libre wrestling, and a huge display of lowriders and other incredible autos!
Thirsty for some Baja-inspired beverages? Stop by the Lucha Cantina for an ice-cold cerveza, craft margaritas and traditional cocktails! Looking to challenge your spice tolerance? Check out the Fiesta specials from participating restaurants at Old Town’s top Mexican eateries or treat your taste buds to one of the many vendors offering a wide selection of authentic cuisine, local grub, agua frescas, and so much more! Between the music and yummy delights, feed your curiosity and love for history by exploring the museums, specialty shops and the lively streets of the bustling Mercado where you can purchase an array of merchandise from over 100 vendors that include: handmade leather pieces, beautiful jewelry and many more treasures. With free activities for the children, there will be no time for a siesta at this fun-filled fiesta!
Fiesta Old Town will continue to top its traditions and bring Latin festivities for the San Diego community of all ages to partake in! Fiesta Old Town is the perfect opportunity to create meaningful memories, enjoy the company of family and friends, and come together for an unbeatable FREE weekend in the heart of the historic Old Town neighborhood. Proceeds benefit the Historic Old Town Community Foundation who work diligently to provide opportunities for partners to support the development of curriculum materials, outreach and interactive educational programming. These programs support the history, diversity, conflict resolution and Hispanic heritage programs of the Old Town School program and California State Parks.
